Bowling 22nd Feb 2012

A round dozen bowlers today at Lanna. 4 teams of 3, or 3 of 4? After a brief debate we decided on 4 of 3. Welcome to new bowler Mark S. And the long awaited, high scoring week, finally arrived. 3 teams out of 4 over handicap with an impessive winning score of 2,139 on lane 12.......Michael +54, Lennart +140 and RJ +145 making up that team. Second place (alas, no prize money this week ) were 233 pins behind, but still with a very good 1,906 total. No big suprise then, about high score winners, with lane 12 cleaning up there, although its worth a mention that there were 7, worthy contenders for game 3, but Lennart's 294 ( 223 scratch!) easily taking that game. RJ won the first 2 games with 269 and 234 respectively. Other over-handicappers were Stewart +92, Steini +48 and Mark S +95. No photo this week, but i'll try to remember my camera next time. 16 rollers turned up at Lanna, making an easy 4 teams of 4. Welcome to new bowlers Steini Roy and Tang. What can I say? Another, mostly, low scoring week with lane 21 taking first prize with 2,370 pin total. Phil W +29, Steini -71, Michael +44 and Sherman -32 made up that team. Second place team ( no prize money! ) trundled in with 2,163 pins. Apparently, the lanes had not been 'oiled' very well this week so we do have a valid excuse. RJ +38 and John X +15 managed to 'over-handicap' so it could have been worse! RJ in again taking 1st (232) and 3rd (243) high score games, Stewart taking 2nd game with 210. Well....with handicaps going through the roof, I foresee a record breaking week anytime soon........and it could just be next week.

Suphin the pie lady, has been around for a few weeks selling some delicious western food to the gang, so i've just included a photo..........

Unlucky for some, 13 bowlers at Lanna today. So......3 teams of 3 and 1 of 4. Another poor performance following last weeks. Lane 21 the winning team with a below par 2,382 pin total ( using freddie the phantom 4th ). John V -16, Rex +38 and John X -24 making up that team. Only one other person had a "plus" game and that was RJ with a respectable +77. He took 2nd and 3rd high score games, 236 and 249, and Rex taking the first with 217. Whats happening people? A few weeks ago, we were commenting on how many handicaps there were in the 20's and 30's. After last week and this week!........well, enough said. I'm sure in the not too distant future, there'll be a bumper week with everyone bowling like demons and handicaps plummeting. Who knows.......maybe next week........dare you miss it??

14 bowlers at Lanna making 2 teams of 4 and 2 of 2. I dont know why but it seems to go that it a good scoring week for many........or its bad for most! This week was a bad for most. Must be something in the water. Lane 20 took first place with a below par 2,388. Second place (no prize money! ) had a measly 2,236. John Q -15 David L -34 Rex +29 and Steve J +8 making up the winning team. And no others getting over handicap! High score game 1 went to Sherman 248 and Rex taking 2nd and 3rd games with 219 and 215 respectively. Things can only get better next week..............see you there
