Have just been informed that Lanna Bowl will be closed for renovations/repairs from 5th June to 5th July 2012

11 bowlers this week at Lanna. Team of Noi -58, Sherman +26, Michael +77 and RJ -43 making up the winning team with a scraper 2,402 pin total. High score games 1 and 3 to Michael with Steve J taking 2nd. Mega mechanical problems again. Will it ever improve? Who knows. We can but live in hope.........see you next time!

Eight bowlers today two teams of four

Lane 18 won all 3 games. John Q +55, Stewart +109, Sherman -62 and Phyllis +49 shared 320 Bhat

Stewart 2 and Phyllis took the high scores.

There were a few lane problems again but the die-hards remain strong.

11 again this week turned up in the heat at Lanna. A very warm (no pun intended) welcome back to 7 non-regulars. And i mean that most sincerely folks. Without these people, we would have had 1 team of 4. Or 4 teams of 1! So thank you Garry, H, Aree, Ecker, John Q, Daniel and David L.......i think worth a mention. The winning team from start to finish consisted of David L +72, Michael +10, Steve J -33 and John V +12 and a 2,459 pin total. I'm convinced that the heat makes for more mechanical problems, which were a tad more than usual, so not too long before that gets, at least a bit better. High score winners.....David L, 257. Aree, 229 and yours truely (Michael) 224. Apart from the afor-mentioned, other over par bowlers........RJ +1, Garry +12 and Ecker +12. Well played everyone........hope to see you all again soon. Legs eleven bowlers at Lanna this week, so 2 teams of 4 and 1 of 2. Some good bowling, and some not so good. Thats life i guess, and also a lack of oil on some lanes! RJ +2, Wandee +13 and Sherman +66 making up the winning team with 2,515 pin total. High scores, game 1, Wandee 211. Game 2, Sherman 271 and game 3, RJ 230. Thats right!.......the winning team also cleaned up on high scores! Oh well......there's always next week. Chris (welcome back!) +54 and John V +37 were also over par players. Nine hardy bowlers at Lanna this week, making an easy 3 of 3. A comfortable win, from start to finish, for lane 15 with a very good 1,929 pin total. Sherman +21, Wandee +52 and John X +56 making up that team. Wandee, John X and RJ picked up the respective high score game prizes. Other over-par bowlers.....John V +14, Steve J +7 and Tip +20. So not a bad days bowling. Mechanical problems?.......well, i've witnessed worse. Nuff said.............But, as per usual, still had fun at Lanna!............Thanks everyone. See you next time.

9 bowlers this week at Lanna, making an easy 3 teams of 3. Lane 17 won the day from start to finish with a respectable 1,963 pins and all 3 team members over handicap in all games. John X +59, Michael +43 and Steve +61 made up that team. Usually, the winning team will have at least 1 member taking at least 1 high score prize. Not today! Lennart took the first game with 238. Wandee, second game, 222 and Sherman, third game and 240. So much for statistics eh? Mechanical problems not so bad this week and with a few more other customers around, adding to the atmosphere, another good week at Lanna. Well played everyone. See you next time............

9 bowlers this week at Lanna. And not a bad days bowling. Teams of 3 with all teams over par. It was up and down too. Lane 17 were leading after game 1. Lane 15 snicked in front by 1 pin in the 2nd game and went on to win the match with 1,905 pins. But lane 16, who were last in the first 2, came through to take 2nd place! RJ -2, Michael +17 and Lennart +90 making up the winning team. Some good individual scores with Stewart +87. John X +39. Steve J +49 and Wandee with +33. High scores were Steve 257. Stewart 250 and Lennart 225. So, all in all, a good day. Join us again soon for more fun bowling at Lanna.

A poor turnout today, 6 hardy bowlers.

Sherm, Lenny and Stewy beat the other 3 Steve John vee and Wandee.

Wandee Len and Len again collected the 40B highscores.

no-one really stood out, maybe those at home with their feet up could have been the star.

We'll never know. Could the last bowler to leave please blow out the candle.

The machines improved a little this week, but still poor...

Quite a few casual bowlers and their children bowling today, a busy centre for a change.

9 league bowlers braved the sunshine and vanishing smoke to come bowling this week

Ta 212 ...and Steve J 231 and Ta 240 again took the high scores.

Lennart -11, John V +12 and Wandee +14 won the day with only 15 pins over par.

Please come along next week, more players equals more fun and bigger prizes.

15 bowlers this week, teams of 3.

The lanes were appalling this time, pins dropping, wrong scores, balls stuck. Wandee had a word or two with the manager.

With 1975 pins lane 13 won the day easily. Stewart +23, Surachot +93 and Steve J+59.

The only other bowler over average was Jo +37.

Ten bowlers this week, Steini and Mark S made it back again, their becoming regulars.

The winners were John X +34, John V+28 and Stewart +54.

Sherman was +43 and Steve J +34. Lennart found the lane to his liking +158. He took the high-score twice and Sherman took the third.

Next week we will have 4 new bowlers joining our small group. Cheers, see you there. We try to start at 3:45.

A round dozen bowlers today at Lanna. 4 teams of 3, or 3 of 4? After a brief debate we decided on 4 of 3. Welcome to new bowler Mark S. And the long awaited, high scoring week, finally arrived. 3 teams out of 4 over handicap with an impessive winning score of 2,139 on lane 12.......Michael +54, Lennart +140 and RJ +145 making up that team. Second place (alas, no prize money this week ) were 233 pins behind, but still with a very good 1,906 total. No big suprise then, about high score winners, with lane 12 cleaning up there, although its worth a mention that there were 7, worthy contenders for game 3, but Lennart's 294 ( 223 scratch!) easily taking that game. RJ won the first 2 games with 269 and 234 respectively. Other over-handicappers were Stewart +92, Steini +48 and Mark S +95. No photo this week, but i'll try to remember my camera next time. 16 rollers turned up at Lanna, making an easy 4 teams of 4. Welcome to new bowlers Steini Roy and Tang. What can I say? Another, mostly, low scoring week with lane 21 taking first prize with 2,370 pin total. Phil W +29, Steini -71, Michael +44 and Sherman -32 made up that team. Second place team ( no prize money! ) trundled in with 2,163 pins. Apparently, the lanes had not been 'oiled' very well this week so we do have a valid excuse. RJ +38 and John X +15 managed to 'over-handicap' so it could have been worse! RJ in again taking 1st (232) and 3rd (243) high score games, Stewart taking 2nd game with 210. Well....with handicaps going through the roof, I foresee a record breaking week anytime soon........and it could just be next week.

Suphin the pie lady, has been around for a few weeks selling some delicious western food to the gang, so i've just included a photo..........

Unlucky for some, 13 bowlers at Lanna today. So......3 teams of 3 and 1 of 4. Another poor performance following last weeks. Lane 21 the winning team with a below par 2,382 pin total ( using freddie the phantom 4th ). John V -16, Rex +38 and John X -24 making up that team. Only one other person had a "plus" game and that was RJ with a respectable +77. He took 2nd and 3rd high score games, 236 and 249, and Rex taking the first with 217. Whats happening people? A few weeks ago, we were commenting on how many handicaps there were in the 20's and 30's. After last week and this week!........well, enough said. I'm sure in the not too distant future, there'll be a bumper week with everyone bowling like demons and handicaps plummeting. Who knows.......maybe next week........dare you miss it??

14 bowlers at Lanna making 2 teams of 4 and 2 of 2. I dont know why but it seems to go that it a good scoring week for many........or its bad for most! This week was a bad for most. Must be something in the water. Lane 20 took first place with a below par 2,388. Second place (no prize money! ) had a measly 2,236. John Q -15 David L -34 Rex +29 and Steve J +8 making up the winning team. And no others getting over handicap! High score game 1 went to Sherman 248 and Rex taking 2nd and 3rd games with 219 and 215 respectively. Things can only get better next week..............see you there

the winners on lane 22 with 2515 were Norm, Tome, Jo and Ron.
Second prize to Lane 20 with 2483 were Rex, David S, David L and Corky.
There were some great scores today...
Ron +72, Tome +55, Jo +49, Phil W +42, Scott +29, David S +26, Lennart +24, David L + 23, Sherman +18 and Tip +14.
The Top score prizes went to Jo once and Super Lennart twice.

Fifteen funseekers this afternoon at Lanna, so no problems about team numbers. An easy 5 of 3. Welcome to new bowlers Kareena, Sherrin and Jon. Lanes 20 and 23 were the frontrunners throughout the match, tying for first in game 1. Lane 20 surging ahead in game 2, but lane 23 eventually taking 1st with 1,847 pins over 20's 1,816. Lennart -37, Rex +3 and Tip +79 making up the winning team. High score game winners this week...........David L game 1 and 215 . John X took 2nd and 3rd games with 231 and 232 respectively. Apologies to Tip from yours truely. She was in tip top form today and should have taken 1st and 3rd high score games, but..........you gotta be in it to win it! Oh well..........the bruising should be gone by next week. Other over-handicappers, over 3 games, were, David L +30, Jo +10 and John X +62. John X (that man again!) also high scratch bowler with a consistantly good 554 pin total. Well played everyone. Hope to see you all again soon at Lanna Bowl.

An uneven 17 rollers turned up at Lanna, making 3 teams of 3 and 2 of 4 with just enough dosh for a small second prize. Welcome back to Scott, be it only briefly this time, and newbie Dome. Not a high scoring week with only lane 20 breaking the 2,400 barrier and by 63 pins. They, of course, were the winners. David L +82, H +15 and Stewart -49 made up the team. Coming in, a not so close second, and 2,398 pins was lane 21 with Lennart +55, John V -64 and RJ +8. High score game 1 winner was Scott and 253. Second game H and 239 and third game was Lennart, 235. We have a first time tie for top scratch bowler with Lennart and David L both bowling an impressive 547 . Other over-averagers this week included John X +24 and Michael +18. Only 9 bowlers have showed up so far this year :)
You know... it's a funny game, Stewart+67 and Lennart+82 both bowled a 556 scratch over 3 games but both were beaten by John.V+90 who bowled 564. his 3 games were funny scores...199, 188 and 177.
Mister backswing returned from Oz, Shane himself.. Sexy Rexy+234 also made an appearance this week and pocketed a B60 high score . The other High Score winners: Stewart 250 and Jo 227. Not to forget the other achiever today..RJ +49. Thanks and see you wednesday.
