Fourteen bowlers turned up for some festive fun at Lanna this week. So 2 teams of 3 and 2 of 4 making an even split. And a very close game it was between lanes 21, 23 and 24. At least they were the lanes to start with. But then the mechanical problems set in. They broke lanes 21 and 22, so they were designated down the road a bit, only to break those lanes after not too long. Meantime, they fixed 21 and 22, so back they came to resume the game. Then.......we broke 23 and 24, so off we went to some other lanes, where we managed to finish the game. But, for the sake of simplicity, Lane 23 were the eventual winners with 2,512 pins. Lane 21 came in second with 2,485 ( no prize this week ) and lane 24 not that far behind, with 2,474. After game 1, lane 21 were winning. Game 2 it was lane 24 and lane 23 eventually coming out on top! So it really was a close call. Stewart +81, Steve J -23, Les +3 and Michael +51 made up the winning team. High score winners.......H, game 1 and 233. Stewart took 2nd and 3rd games with 251 and 246. Other over-handicappers..........John V, +47. Tip, +27. H, +30. Ben, +46 and RJ, +30. So some good bowling going down this week. And top gross bowler was Stewart with a very good 537. Sorry, no photo this week. But an eventfull and fun time at Lanna. Legs eleven bowlers again, making 2 teams of 4 and 1 of 3. Apparently, a team of 3, has a very slight advantage over a foursome. Not much we can do about that and not sure exactly why, but this week, as last week, the threesome took first prize, and by a slender 17 pin margin over lane 19 with a 2,451 pin total. Lennart -32, Ta -4 and anchorman David L with +75 made up the winning team. Hi score winners, game 1, Stewart with 251 and B60. Games 2 and 3, David L with 225 and 250, B80 and B60 respectively. Other over-averagers were Les +42, Stewart +62, John V +28 and JJ with +19. Top bowl without handicap this week was David L with 516. Eleven lonely bowlers attended the weekly shootout.
Welcome back JJ who immediately bowled 39 over her old average and won High-score in Game 1.
RJ took the honors in game 2 +23 and Lennart woke from his bowling slumber in game 3 with +56.
The team of 3 won on lane 23 Steve J+30, Ta -8 and Garry +34.
David L improved from a month ago with +11, No-one else stood out over average.

A round dozen bowlers this week at Lanna and a decision on 4 teams of 3 was made with 'winner takes all'. And no need for "freddie the phantom 4th" so 1,800 pin total was the target. 2 teams managed this with lane 21 crossing the finish line first with 1,878, 20 pins ahead of lane 24. The winning team consisting of Garry W +59, John V -19 and Ta +38. High score game winners were, David S, game 1 and 244. Game 2 was Garry W, 229 ( 1 pin more than a slightly peeved Tip! ) and John V with 227 in game 3. Other high rollers this week, in no particular order, were John X +7, David S +29, RJ +39 and Tip with +27. Top bowler without handicap was John X with a very good 557.

 Included, is a snapshot of Les, psyching himself up for the game. Seemed to work too as he turned in a very respectable +41. Well done Les! And after my performance this week i might just try that too. So......good fun as usual.........well played everyone.......... see you next time.
