Bowling 11th November

Even numbers this week of 28 people making 7 teams of 4 .

There were some good scores from 4 teams in the 1st round but the 1st round belonged to the team of Steve, Phyllis, Pung and Rene on lane 10 with a total team score of 890 pins. They were 85-90 pins ahead of their nearest competitors. The star of the team for the first game was Phyllis by achieving her first over 200 game. Congratulations!!! Her raw score was 211 pins and with handicap it comes out to be 274 pins. It looked like if this team could keep this momentum they were going to be a shoe in to win this weeks team prize. Unfortunately this team faltered in last two games and it gave the other teams a chance to take over the lead.

The team of CT, John Q, Colin and Mike B on lane 14 were 89 pins behind after the 1st game. After the second game they were only 6 pins behind Phyllis's team. They bowled steadily through all 3 games to win the 1st place team prize this week by having a total team score of 2513 pins. They beat Phyllis's team by 63 pins in the end.

2nd place consolation prize went to Phyllis, Steve, Pung and Rene with a total team score of 2413pins.

High score went to Phyllis with a total of 274 pins.
High score honorable mention goes to Denis with a total of 270 pins.

Thank you Scott for taking care of the books for the last 3 weeks.

See you all next week-Yung

Bowling 4th November

29 players this week, making up 5 teams of 4 & 3 of 3.
Welcome for his first visit since Jan 08 to Les' friend Wayne.

Quick out of the blocks with 849 were the 3 ball of Phil W, Kung & searching for her first win since Sept last year Ning. Closely pursued by "bad men" Dennis, Stewart, Jimmy & John V with 829.
After game 2 "the bad men" had taken a very narrow advantage of 3 with 1693 pins.

Alot of fun was had, as the 3 ball finished some time ahead of their main competitors, ending up with 2526 pins. All eyes were on "the bad men's" 3rd game. Ning & Kung did their very best to put off their rivals with heckling & banter, given & taken in good spirit. But sadly it was to no avail as all 4 fella's bowled better than their handicap in game 3, finishing with an impressive 2566 pins.

No high score prize this week, but it would have gone to team winner Stewart with a superb 262 (224 w/o h'cap)...sorry same as last week, mai mee satang!

In the last 16 wks, some of the regular players have won the following:
Twice - Somsee, Rene, Rex, CT, Kevin, Walter & John R.
3 times - Jimmy, Yung, Michael & Stewart.
Les has won on 4 occasions.
But way out in front having won no fewer than 6 times in the last 10 wks John V. Cut him I hear you cry!!

See you Wed for more fun - Scott
