Bowling Wed 28th May

Even numbers again today, with 7 teams of 4.

Not much to report on. John Richards had top net score of 253 for 200 baht.

Only one team failed to reach the handicap mark. Others were close with 2414, 2420, 2442, 2459 & 2460.

But easy winners for the 800 baht with a very good score of 2520 were – Jo (651) Ben (605) Gerry (621) & Garry W (643). It was only Ben’s second appearance and she's in the money already.

Have a good week, see you next Wednesday - Les

Bowling Wed 21 May

The circus continues to grow – 39 bowlers today. Four new ones, Rene & Pung (known to golfers) with their friends Corky and Ben. Always good to see Phil Hopper back from work in UK with Nang and Lilly.

No performances worth writing home about this week and in fact only 3 teams out of 10 managed to achieve a handicap team average of 200.

Winners for B 750 were a boys team of 3, Jimmy 166-196-220 (582) Ken 195-246-219 (660) & Colin 162-216-225 (603) team average 205.
Colin is in there again !!

Second for B 400 were Jo, Tom, Yung & Garry W with team average of 203.

High game score B 200 won by Nongruk with 254 and second high game B 100 to Ken with 246.

Next week we might put up a nomination form for an International Teams Event in a few weeks time. Just for something different.

Cheers - Les

Wed 14 May

Sorry, a bit late getting last Wed’s results posted, has been a busy week.

Best bowler on the day belonged to Som See again with her 279 – 211 – 242 ( 732 ) or gross 513. Well done Som! Also worth a mention was Michael with 244 – 265 – 179 ( 688 ) or gross 502. What happened in the last frame Michael ?

So Som See won B100 for high net game score of 279 and that helped rest of her team of Ley, David H, and Ken into 1st Place for B800. Total ave team score of 212.

Close behind in 2nd place and B400 were Anita, Jo, Martin and Jimmy with 208 ave.

Supposed to be low season at present, but we re still getting good numbers along with 34 players this week.

See you next Wed - Les.

Bowling Wed 7th May

Still lucky with numbers again and had 7 teams of 4. Welcome back to Garry Lyon’s son David who had a previous game with us last December.

No real good performances, but John V bowled 221-222-231 (674) Scott 221-261-235 (717) Martin 237-245-211 (695) David Lyon 222-216-200 (638) to be above their handicaps in all three games.

Gerry got 216-288-193 (697) to win the high net score B200 with his 288. Obviously tried to protect his handicap in the last game, but he has still loss 16 points down to 61. (that’s more like it)

Winners without a challenge of the B800 were Som See, Martin, Erik and Gerry, total net team score of 2552. Second place were 100 pins behind them, a big win.

A reminder not to forget to pay for the bowling before you leave. One player has missed the past two weeks. I find it a good idea to go pay during the afternoon before finishing (and before the Leo kicks in).

Okay, hope to see you next week.

Thursday, May 1, 2008

Some more new faces today. Welcome to David Hub & Ning (No.3) Mike (Anita’s son-in-law) and Keith. Good to have Dennis, Susan and H back with us again as well.

Have been lucky with teams of 4 lately and had 32 players today.

J.J. had the best scores with a gross 507 pins for the 3 games, (net 675) and highest net game score of 250. Sorry no money again for that this week.

After the 2nd game the boys team of Colin, Michael, Ian and Keith were all bowling very well and were looking good for the money, even though they only had a slender lead of 9 pins. However the Singa’s and Leo’s must have kicked in and they all crashed in the last frame to finish out of the placings.

This gave the B 800 to J.J., Koy, Surachot and Jim with a good team score of net 2579.

Second place B 400, went to Ram, Aoi, Les and John B with a good steady performance of 2536.

I think the boys who keep the score etc for us only come in to work for a couple of hours to look after us and it would be appreciated if you could remember the tip box (ice bucket) on the bench, near the score board, on your way out.

Hope to see you next week - Les
