Welcome back to Ian Mackay (with Mon) from U.K. whom we hadn’t seen since last Dec. Also Waw back after 3 months in Bangkok.
5 teams of 5 played today. No special mentions this week. No one bowled over or close to 500.Winners of 200B each and net scores were : Erik 229-203-212 Jo 198-213-197 John B 223-236-203 Ley 189-250-212 and Ian Mac 222-197-217. Toal team net score 3201. All bowled ave over 200 each game. Very hard to beat.
Second place was 48 pins behind them. But all 5 teams bowled over the handicap mark of net 3000, albeit that my team only made it by 8 pins to run last.
Highest net game scores were shared by Ley and Len with 250. But no prize today.
Well the equipment was back to operating okay again today thank goodness. Don’t know whether we had anything to do with that or not. Nothing else of interest –
hope to see you next week - Les

Bowling Wed 16 April
Lennart is heading back to Sweden this week to give someone else a chance of having a win, but he has threatened that he will return. It seems we have started a Swedish connection with Kjell, Nit and Inger joining us today. Also Chris is returning to UK for a while, but sure we will see him again as well.
7 teams of 4 today which was a good number of players, especially with some regulars missing. Ted comes to mind, back in Canada again I understand.
Not many good scores today, probably due to the fact that the machinery was malfunctioning badly again, I know it puts me off. Tried to get the message across to management that if it is the same next week we may have to go play at U.F.O. Bowling. We did this once before and it worked.
Lennart continues to perform better and better. Knocked over 554 pins in his 3 games. ( 164-187-203 ) When he gets back again he will find a handicap of 21 (-14) waiting for him.
Yung seems to get a mention each week and managed to grab to high net score prize with 248, which is the lowest for a while.
Easy winners today were Fon ( 211-201-198 ) Mon ( 207-234-214 ) Lennart ( 199-222-238 ) & Colin ( 188-190-202 ) Team total 2505. This was the only team to better the team handicap mark of 2400. Must make a point of asking Colin how he does it, I haven’t had a collect for bloody ages.
Lets hope lanes are working better next week - Les

Wed 9 April
Welcome Phil & Liz White from Darwin, Australia and guests of Garry W. Also first time out for Gerry Brimcombe, Canadian who spends a good deal of time in Chiang Mai.
Farewell to Bryce, Nee and Jack, hope to see you again next year. Will have the actual handicaps for you next time Bryce and Jack. ( 93 & 136 )
Big crowd again this week 9 lanes of 4. Unfortunately the scoring system wasn’t working to well at all, but the staff managed to correct it fairly quickly most of the time.
Lennart had another good day with top net game score of 278, total 3 game gross score of 526 ( net 664 ) and has reduced his handicap to 35.
Yung’s 3rd game score is worth a mention – 87 – there you go, anyone can do it !!
Winners today were Nongruk ( 592 ) Nee ( 678 ) Colin ( 648 ) and Ken ( 601 ) team total 2469 for 800 baht.
Runners up – Noi ( 659 ) Fon ( 596 ) Erik ( 650 ) and Garry W ( 539 ) team total 2444 for 400 baht.
Hope we don’t get wet next week - Les

Bowling Wed 2 April
Welcome to Bryce Winston, his wife Nee and son Jack on annual visit from Western Australia. Bryce played one game with us last year with a total gross score of only 250, which gave him a handicap today of 116 which proved to be the undoing of the rest of us.
Phil Williams leaves this week for sunny Wales, hope to see him back towards the end of the year. Tell Emely we all miss her at bowling Phil.
7 teams of 4 today made a good number.
Ken, Phil, Nee and Pim were early leaders after the 1st frame by 21 pins over Rex, Yung, Ley and Nongruk. But in the 2nd frame Bryce (h/cap 116) and Lennart bowled net 249 and 253 to give their team with J.J. and Aor a lead of 41 pins (all over red rover). They all carried on in the 3rd frame with Lennart a 238 and Bryce winning the high net score with 278. The team finished with a total net score overall of 2552, best ever I think, that’s a game average of 850 per frame.
Lennart also had the best gross score of the day with 3 game total of 524. Very good team performance.
Rex, Yung, Ley and Nongruk held on to 2nd place with a 2508. Another good performance.
Under our h/cap system Bryce retains a handicap of 92, which I know doesn’t seem right, but that the way we work it out. It will right itself in due course.
