Wed 26 March
This week we had a perfect turnout of 32 Bowlers which gave us 8 four person teams. Again this week we welcomed two new lady bowlers, Noi and Fon and again this week the fill in handicapper guessed wrong as Noi ended up with the high score of the day at 249. She was closely challenged by Garry W. who recorded a 243.The team of Colin, Rex, Somsee and Lay jumped into an early lead with an 820 and they never looked back. In the second game they followed up with an 843 and an impressive 853 in the third. I should mention that the ladies on the team quite outdid the men with all six of their games over 200! The second place team of Garry W., John V. John b. and Jim had a poor start with a 767 in the first, but came back in the second and third with an 829 and an 859.Next week Les should be back and we all look forward to seeing his smile as he cuts our handicaps to where they should be.

Wed 19 March
The heat must be making people lazy as we had a much smaller turnout this week with only 27 bowlers out for the afternoon. A warm welcome to two new bowlers Sunni and John B.The fill-in handicapper did a poor job of allocating an 80 handicap to John B. as he powered his team into first place in the first game with a 236 helped by team mate Martin who scored a 243. The two ladies in the group Tom and Ley also contributed and gave the team a total of 846 for an average of 211. They continued in this winning way with an 858 in the second and an 824 in the third and the first place prize with a winning average of 210.The race for second place was hot after the second game with the team of Dan S., Dennis, JJ, Dao, tied with Ted, Mr B., Pim, and Sai Tong at an average of 201. However, in the third game Pim, and Sai Tong pulled their team into second place scoring a 230 for Pim and a 240 for Sai Tong. Ted and Mr B. had a 219 and a 187 for a total score of 876 giving them an average of 207 and second place. The high score of the day went to Yung. After a miserable first game, he opened his second game with two open frames and a spare and then another open frame and at this point was not looking good. The next five frames were strikes followed by a spare and a strike to finish the game with 201 scratch and 251 handicapped for the high game prize.

Bowling Wed 12 March
Another huge turnout of bowlers this week with 39 on the lanes. It would have been 40 but Len was held up at the Bank (or holding up the Bank!) and couldn't make it. A warm welcome to 3 new bowlers, Richy who is Anita's grandson, Chan, Mr B's significant other and Laza who came with Colin.
All ten lanes were ready to bowl at 4pm and it was no contest for 9 teams as the team of Colin, John, Sai Tong, and Aoi ran away with an early lead. In the first game they posted an 844 total for an average of 211, with Aoi bowling the high game for game one with a 249. They kept up the pressure in game two with an 835 for an average of 210, and then put the win beyond doubt with a whopping 903 in the third game for a final average of 215.
The closest rivals and second place team of Dao, Erik, Garry W. and Koy scored 805, 823, 834 for a final average of 205. Garry W. tried to put the team in contention with a final game effort of 251 which piped Aoi's high game of 249 and was enough for the high game money and team second place.
With bowling over we said goodbye to Brock who won't be back until December, and wished him well as he deals with the snow and ice of the lingering Canadian winter.

Bowling Wed 5 March
Wow, 42 people turned up this week. Good luck next week Gary Lyon.
Best bowler was again Yung with total of 519 pins over the 3 games. He suggested before the start that we could have a prize for best gross score . Voted out, bad luck mate.
There were some really good individual net game scores :
Surachot 233
Nongruk 235
Aoi 235
Ken 236
Tom 238
And the best for the money,
Mon 259 and
Martin 265
Martin also had the best total net score over 3 games of 697. And somehow has only dropped handicap from 80 to 63.
Team money winners were :
Anita, Sai Tong, Dao and Brock with 213.4
Second place : Dan E, Jimmy, Yung and Gordon L 207.8
Closely followed by
Phil, Colin, Ram and Mon 206.3
And Chris, Martin, Michael and Thomas 205.5
So only 8 pins in top 4 spots.
See you in 4 weeks, good bowling - Les
