Power went off when we arrived this week, but there were still 39 people waiting to play when it came back on at 4pm starting time.
Couple of newcomers again this week, sorry in the power confusion I didn’t get to talk with them, - Dennis & Martin – I think Canadians.
Best performance this week was again Surachot, back in form, with gross total of 517 pins.
Best Net were :
‘H’ 227-225-247 ( 699 ) still grizzling about handicap
Anita 272-213-211 ( 696 ) got to get her handicap down some how
Ning 2 224-234-213 ( 671 ) just her 3rd try
Colin 202-211-213 ( 626 ) about time
Was a close contest today with Ram, Ning 2, Surachot & Ted winning by 1.3 pins with team ave of 210.3 from Anita, Jo, John R & Colin on 205.2
Phil W, H & Dan S, just missed out on the money with 205.2.
Anita had highest net game score prize with the 272.
Rex and Gary L are going to share the paperwork while I am away for 3 weeks from 12th March. So we all thank them.
Don’t forget Surachot’s party on Fri 29th Feb.
See you next week - Les

Bowling Wed 20 Feb
Wow 39 starters this week. We’ll need to get two venues shortly.
Michael and Susan brought along Susan’s sister and niece, Anita and Ettie visiting from Northampton U.K. John Vidler, Aussie, who has been around Chiang Mai for a while now, came along for his first try and did pretty well. Hope you all enjoyed.
Well the star of the day was certainly JO, she bowled 3 handicap games of 258 – 263 – 260. Total net for the day 535 pins. Well done Jo. Len also had a very good day with 512 pins. But no one was going to take the high game score prize off Jo, who has slashed 21 off her handicap as a result.
However Jo’s effort didn’t stop the winners, Mol, Susan,Keith and Ted with team average of 217.33. Second place Erik, Mr B, David and Tom on 208.6.
Yours truly is off on his Philippine philandering on 8th March and will miss 3 weeks bowling. We will need a volunteer to fill in, so if someone would like to have a go, see me next week.
Good bowling - Les

With Les away it was left to Gary L to run the bowling and he did a brilliant job even managing to get us away early. This is his report on the days events
Last Wednesday saw another big turnout with 32 bowlers competing for the prize money, and the competition was hot. After the first game Mr B thought he might have the high score wrapped up with a 248. However, Rex got his big golf ball rolling in the third game and powered his way to a high game score of 268.
There was a tight race for the best team average with the team of Somsee, Len, Erik, Dan, and Michael neck and neck with the team of Rex, Gordon L., Garry W. and Ning. For the the first two games it was a virtual tie but Rex's big high game in the third pushed the team to a 215.8 average and won the day.
